Atupele warns Malawians
BY THOM NG’AMBI
Presidential candidate for United Democratic Front (UDF), Atupele Muluzi, has warned Malawians to open their eyes and be aware of the recycled politicians whom he says are disturbing the country’s development.
Atupele has been saying this recently in his whistle stop tours that he has been conducting across the country recently with an aim of meeting Malawians and presenting his ideas which he believes will transform the country once he is voted into power on May 20.
“Beware of the recycled politicians, be careful of them, they always try that they remain in government whenever the ruling party changes,” said Atupele who repeats his speech wherever he goes.
He further warned Malawians to be alert and not be misled by some politicians whom he says will come out during the forthcoming campaign period with some handouts.
“After they have stolen from you, after the have stolen your tax money, they will come to you with two things, a T-shirt and a cap,” he told his listeners in phalombe district on Wednesday, February 26.
He added that the country is also failing to develop because citizens vote into power the same people who steal from them and this is also why there are only few people who are enjoying in the country while a big number of Malawians are living in poverty.
“If someone is coming to you to give out cows, Maize and other items, is this freedom or slavery,” he querried.
He promised that when in power he will make sure that Malawians attain economic freedom so that they should be able to buy what they want.
