Mutharika hails Kachali’s presidential candidature endorsement – says the country need strong leadership

Democratic Progressive Party DPP presidential candidate Professor Peter Mutharika has hailed the country’s vice president Khumbo Kachali for endorsing him as the right candidate to be voted in power to rule the nation come May 20th elections

Mutharika’s remarks follows a campaign rally that was held in Mzimba South which is Kachale’s constituency where Kachali to announced his official joining of DPP.

Kachale resigned from DPP last week months after he was not favoured ny president Joyce Banda to be her running mate in the tripartite elections.

Speaking soon after Kachale endorsed him, Mutharika said he was grateful for the endorsement and promised to develop the north once voted in power come May 20th.

Mutharika said the country need strong leadership that would alleviate current social and economic challenges facing the nation.

“The country is on the verge of collapse, government departments and institutions are collapsing, time has come that you should elect presidents that have capacity to govern this nation, there is no time for on the job training to run this country”, said Mutharika to the gathering.

Mutharika promised to introduce the cement and iron sheets subsidized program once voted in power.
