Award-winning Senegalese-American R&B artist, Akon, was reported to have been in a giant bubble while performing at a concert in Goma, DRC.
This was apparently, to prevent coming into contact with people who may infect him with the Ebola virus.
The successful US hip hop and R&B artist had performed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s city of Goma as part of the country’s International Day of Peace celebrations last month.
For some bizarre reason, some international publications have reported his performance in the “bubble” can be attributed to his attempts at avoiding Ebola infection.
Akon himself made no public mention of any fears of Ebola for his upcoming performance.
What also doesn’t make sense is that this wasn’t the first time that Akon crowdsurfed in the contraption.
The artist also had similar performances in Australia and the United Arab Emirates. No cases of Ebola have been reported in those countries.
