Extremely Inspiring! Bravo Chipiliro Mizere
Third year Chancellor College has developed his own locally made fertiliser! Now that is entrepreneurship at its best. This is the kind of innovation that requires full govt support.
The Malawi Enterprise Development Fund Ltd (MEDF), formally known as Malawi Rural Development Fund (MARDEF) should have been funding the development of such brilliant initiatives. But sadly, that’s not the case. Instead, MEDF has made it to the headlines of Malawi News because:
1) Over K135 million has disappeared
2) Messy recovery of K11.1 billion Filp loans
For starters, about K11.1billion might not be recovered in full because one Joyce Banda used it to buy fertiliser for her campaign. Period. But she cleverly called it Farm Input Loan Program (FILP). So she might not be brought to book.
Only K3.1billion has been recovered so far. About K8 billion will have to be paid by you and me through taxes! But I wish my taxes were being used to help people like Chipiliro Mizere to actualise his entrepreneurial aspirations which have the potential to develop this nation economically.
