DPP desperate to impeach non-corrupt speaker Msowoya

The Democratic Progressive Party DPP government has hatched plans to impeach speaker of parliament Richard Msowoya after failing to corrupt him to side with government in decision making.

This comes as over the past year the DPP government has tried to use all tactics to ensnare Msowoya to belong to the government with the view to frustrate the opposition which despite its low numbers has been vibrant in parliament putting government on its toes.

Inside sources in the ruling DPP have confided In Afriem that the DPP leadership have felt that enough is enough as Msowoya remain a no go zone to be corrupted for selfish political reasons.

Chief among the reasons remain that Msowoya has remained objective in the handling of the K92 billion cash gate report and the opposition has been taking government to task when Msowoya has been leading the house.

Another reason is that Msowoya is not compromising on implementation of section 65 on UDF MPs who are now on the side of government.

This happens a day after the Lilongwe High Court threw out UDF MPs injunction application to restrain the speaker from implementing section 65.

However government has been using the weak deputy speakers in the likes of Esther Mcheka Chilenje and Clement Chiwaya in bull dozing government business In parliament against opposition.

In such a development the DPP feel Msowoya remain instrumental as head of parliament hence they cannot be comfortable with him at the helm of no compromise and corrupt.

The source indicated that the DPP leadership is hatching a plan to move a motion using some gullible opposition MPs for a vote of no confidence motion as ground to impeach Msowoya.

In return government side has planned to use its majority numerical strength to impeach Msowoya so that they put one of their own as speaker of parliament a thing which is now possible due to numerical strength.

When asked for comment on the matter, government authorities chickened out.
