Malawi’s ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) outspoken director of women Patricia Kaliati has attacked opposition parties in the country over government sell of Malawi Savings Bank (MSB).

Kaliati was speaking on Sunday at Nyambadwe School ground in Blantyre during a rally. In her Speech Kaliati said government consulted different stakeholder before selling its 75 percent of its shares to Financial Holdings Limited (FDH).

Kaliati further questioned the opposition for been silent when former president Joyce Banda sold Presidential Jet Dassault Falcon 900EX.

However opposition parties still maintains that government did not consult them as per agreed. The parties Suggests to Impeach President Peter Mutharika for selling the bank without proper procedures.

Malawi government advertised the sale of MSB arguing that the bank’s capital was below the internationally accepted Basal II, a set of banking regulations.
