No food, shelter in Malawi, Mozambican refugees’ goes back to danger

Mozambican refugees who fled the conflict that has ensued between Frelimo and Renamo have started going back to the violence infested country after failing to find proper shelter and food in Malawi.

Confirming the development Mwanza district commissioner Gift Laposo said that the situation on ground is critical.

“They have no choice but to return to danger because they are starving to death here and on top of that they cannot find proper shelter,” he said.

He however promised to do something to those that will remain behind.

“We are discussing with government and other well wishers to help these people,” he said.

Recently, it was reported that the conflict in Mozambique between Frelimo and Renamo is hitting hard on Malawi as displaced families are freeing to Malawi in search of refuge.

According to a report from Mwanza district council over 600 people are fled to Malawi through the district.

The report discloses that in total they are 678 people who are in a need shelter and food. “Among the refugees 400 are children and more people are expecting to free Mozambique as the conflict is intensifying,” he said.
