Seems dreams to chase fame by Timoteo Kalaidze also known by the stage name Timoteo Malawi through Pentecostal Life FM are in shutters following a ban on his music by the radio, a radio station where the artist works as a presenter.
This came following a complaint.
The management had a choice to please their employee or listeners and they chose the latter and asked Timoteo, other presenters to stop playing his music on the radio and warned of dismissal in a case that he fails to comply with the ban.
“It’s true that Timoteo Malawi was banned from playing his own music on the radio,” explained a source.
According to the source, Timoteo Malawi agreed to stop playing his music.
Pentecostal life FM was launched in 2014 to bridge the existing gaps in the broadcasting industry. Timoteo joined the station in the same year.
On the other hand, the artist has done so many collaborations with many artists, but he is yet to break through.
“Timo is had working but I have always advised him to stop doing music, the time he announced his retirement I was relived, he is my friend so I also suffer the humiliation that comes after his music. He doesn’t grow music wise. All he is after is fame and girls” another friend close to Timoteo Malawi told Malawi Zoom, opting for anonymity as they are said to be musical friends.
Timoteo Kalaidze earlier this year announced that he is quitting music for ministry and family commitments as he was quoted on twitter.
“Bye bye ndisadzikepo hophop palibe chomwe imapanga.” he twitted, apparently saying there is no money in Hip-Hop music.
The artist recently retired from retirement and released a single, FlylykBushiri which critics have describe as a “desperate bid to gain cheap fame.”
FlylykBushiri comes after Blantyre based artist Mascot Malawi made a name and re-established himself as a respected artist after singing the hit single “Ngati Salanje” which enjoyed excessive downloads and became the talk of social networks. As a result of Mascot success, Pastor Salanje gave him K100 thousand and sponsored his video, including his yet to be released Mixtape “Good Lucky Charm.”
Efforts to talk to Timoteo Malawi were fruitless as the artist is currently busy promoting his music with what he describes as “an intentional company” called Hans & Tans Advertising Agency.
