TNM hires another South African for MD post

0

Malawi’s premier mobile telecommunication Telecom Network Malawi (TNM) Limited, has hired Douglas Stevenson as its Managing Director starting from next month. He replaces Willem Swart who has been at the helm of the company for the past five years.

Stevenson, a South African just like Swart, is already in the country taking hand overs at TNM Limited. Swart will leave on October 9, 2015. It is not yet known where he is herding to but sources at TNM have revealed that the new MD is coming from Vodacom Business Africa in South Africa, where he was also an MD.

Swart will be remembered to have increased the customer base of TNM Limited tremendously and the company’s involvement in social activities, top on the agenda being the MK 90 million TNM Super League.

At the same time, he will also going to be remembered as having tapped the wrath of Malawians on tariff increase this year when people thought the company had withdrawn its earlier plan on the same.
