Big Issues, News

“Pragmatic”, “Interesting”, “Praise-worthy” and “Breathtaking” have all been used to describe Chakwera’s leadership as opposition leader which has finally united the opposition block to push against Mutharika’s injustice and corrupt government.

Making the union , Dr Lazurus Chakwera with other top opposition giants conducted a Rally a Kalambo. Speaking to the masses that were present a the rally, Chakwera did not mince a word but to hit the nail on the head as to why a union is important coming at a time Malawi is experiencing different problems due to a careless leadership.

“This is not time for personal goals, this is time for the common good. A burden shared is lighter hence no need for a leader to be shouting kuti ‘alibe problem’ whilst people are languishing in and dying of abject hunger in the villages.

“This is time for all opposition parties to move in one direction with one vision that is to save the situation.

Chakwera said: ” We do have issues that show responsibility. Look at the hunger and the economic crisis. It’s a mockery to Malawians that despite scarcity of maize in Admarc depots, persistent power back out , water problems , shortage of medicine in public hospitals, rising prices of good, economic hardship Malawians are facing , Mutharika can boldly stand and say he has no problems.

Speaking to the masses, both Kamlepo Kalua and Enock Chihana emphasized on Dr Laz as Malawi’s hope and asked him to hold joint rallies in all the regions.

They said they have faced arrests a number of times and they are not afraid to ask the current government to step down.
