Big Issue Slide, Just In

Flames doused at home

The Flames have once again hurt the minds of Malawians by losing 1-2 to the visiting Guinea at the giant Kamuzu Stadium in the on going Afcon 2017 qualifiers.

The two were tied 1-1 at recess but the experienced Guinea scored the winner in the second half.

Away in Conakry last Friday Malawi managed to hold Guinea to a barren draw giving people false hopes that they will land a gold while laying at home, but it is the same song of “we played well but the gods were not our side” for the Malawi side.

Malawi’s goal was scored by Chiukepo Msowoya with a spectacular header from a fre kick.

The group is led by Zimbabwe who yesterday beat Swaziland with four straight goals. Swaziland has 5 five points while Malawi remains with two points.
