Gospel artist Grace Chinga no more


A dark cloud has engulfed the Music world as death has robbed the industry of one of Malawi’s talented artist in the name of Grace Chinga. She died in Blantyre at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital on the night of 16th March 2016.

A colleague in the Gospel music circles, Thoko Suya along with her husband are reported to have taken Grace Chinga to the hospital. She complained of a headache.

“1 hour 30 minutes ago, I got a call that Grace Chinga is sick. Thoko and I rushed to pick her to the Hospital (QECH) and upon arrival at the Hospital Grace Chinga is pronounced dead. I feel so heavy in my spirit right now,” Thoko Suya’s husband is quoted from his FB page.

Meanwhile condolences have started flocking in.

Faith Mussa has written on his FB page: “Ooo no Grace Chinga why so soon? Why so early? Why so sudden? RIP l still can’t believe this.”

Thoko Katimba said: “Mphavu zanga zathaaa, mzeru zathansoo. Grace Chinga wamwalira. Abale anga tizitha chonchi?”

Lawyer Sunduzwayo Madise has written: “Just heard of the shocking news of the passing on of Grace Chinga one of my favourite artists; I play her song ‘Mwayenela Ulemu’ almost every night before I sleep!
And the farmer went around pruning His garden
And He saw the beautiful gracious rose…””
Chinga’s last posting on FB age was Tuesday. She wrote: “South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, DRC, Thank you for supporting # Ndizaulura. Malawi wait for the double albums coming out shortly.”

Afriem joins the rest of the world in mourning the death of Grace.
