Another pastor has joined the line of those of the bizarre and controversial. Prophet Theo Bongani Maseko of the Breath of Christ Ministries in Daveyton took to his church’s Facebook page to show images of him feeding his congregants engine cleaning fluid.
The post accompanied with pictures of the event is written: “The fullness of Christ. Healing and strange deliverance #Mark 16: 17 – 18.”
DRUM searched for the scripture in the bible which reads:
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
When Prophet Lethebo Rabalago of the Mount Zion General Assembly sprayed his congregants with Doom last year, DRUM attempted to make sense of the situation.
Chairperson of the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Culture, Religious and Linguistic Communities (CRL Commission, Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva, said pastors were taking advantage of desperate congregants from poor communities.
