Zambian UPP in trouble for providing checks and balances to govt

5

The Zambian United Progressive People (UPP) has been served with a notice to vacate its headquarters by the end of the day today for putting the Zambian government in check.

According to a statement signed by UPP’s president, Saviour Chishimba, the owner of the building being occupied by the party is afraid habouring UPP will land him in trouble with the Zambian government.

“The owner of the property (offices), which we have rented for the past six years, has increased the rentals by 50% and backdated the increase to 1 January, 2017,” reads the statement in part, adding:

“All attempts by management and staff to reason with him on account that there is nothing like backdated rental increments have proved unsuccessful.”

According to the statement the owner does not want to be in the blackbook of the government.

“He has further notified the party that the increase is due to risks that his property is being exposed to following the UPP’s resolve to provide checks and balances through the anti-corruption crusade.

“We urge our members and supporters to remain prayerful, calm and united as we deal with this undesirable situation.

“UPP sincerely appreciates the overwhelming support that we have enjoyed from all Zambians who have sacrificed their resources to fight for dignity and justice for all in our nation.

“Let us continue on this path and nothing shall stop our determination and commitment to the birthing of a corruption-free and prosperous new Zambia,” adds the statement.

The landlord for Saviour Chishimba’s UPP just wants to paint PF using black colours from radio batteries. Who told him that PF is a party which can behave like that just coz Upp is fighting corruption. The.landlord must just give other reasons for taking that action.
