A Malawian Delegation headed along with Malawian Deputy Ambassador in Kuwait, Alison Edson Liwanda, held a meeting with Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President, Zubair Tufail, and other office bearers of FPCCI.
During the delegation the FPCCI President Zubair Tufail briefed on the activities of FPCCI and its role in the economic development of Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of the African market.
“The present volume of trade between Pakistan and Malawi is approximately $10-11 million, which is very low. Pakistan has huge potential in the traditional exports like rice, sports goods, mangoes, surgical instruments, pharmaceutical products, leather, dairy products, fresh vegetable and fruits and textile items,” he said.
FPCCI President Zubair F Tufail accepted an invitation from the Malawian Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Kondwani Nankhumwa to become an Honorary Consul General of Malawi in Pakistan and assured the representation of FPCCI in the delegation to Malawi for exploring the Malawian Market.
He also appreciated the decision of the Malawian government in appointing him honorary consul general and said that this will help in enhancing the bilateral relations with Malawi in particular and the African region in general.
