“MBC/DPP – USING MUSLIMS AS POLITICAL PAWNS IS VERY WRONG, JUST FIGHT CORRUPTION, ARREST THE THIEVES AND CHAPONDA”
Voices have sprung up against DPP/MBC. A move in misusing Muslims to launch propaganda against opposition has been met with anger from Muslims calling the move retrogressive.
Speaking as leaders of unknown group called Muslim Supreme Council of Malawi, the misused imposters said they are behind President Peter Mutharika.
Responding to the imposters, Sheikh Isahaq Rahim and Munira Abdullah said it is ok for people to go and talk what they did on personal capacity but thinking that using a religion is ok will not be tolerated.
“DPP should get to know that above 90% of Muslim will never be happy with corruption, cashgate, misusing of government resources and most certainly misusing of our religion for political gains,” said Sheikh Isahaq.
He add, “We are not ready to support killers, thieves or your propaganda as a religion.
According to the Shiekh, Muslims will not seat and watch a religion being misused especially by a regime that does not respect the rule of law and democracy.
“It is time to arrest the thief in Chaponda and fight corruption. Stop this propaganda nonsense to divert peoples attention, and stop misusing religions and tribes,” said the Shiekh.
Responding to a question, Zomba based Muslim and leader of Muslim women Munira Abdullah said government should concentrate on uplifting peoples lives than fighting the Leader Of Opposition, Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
“INSTEAD OF USING FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS, YOU ARE BUSY MISUSING IT TO MISGUIDE THE CITIZENS,” said Mrs Abdullah asking “WAS THIS MIS-GUIDING OF MALAWIANS IN YOUR MANIFESTO? YOU, DPP SEEM TO LIKE IT MORE THAN YOU LIKE DEVELOPING THE NATION.”
According to Mrs Abdullah, the majority of Malawians both Muslims, Christians who are wise, they don’t trust MBC anymore and are also ready to see a better Malawi hence will stand with those that are saying the truth than those always thinking of propaganda.
“When it comes to politics we regard ourselves as Malawians first and we leave our religious differences at home hence using Muslims for propaganda is not only retrogressive but also abusive to the religion and Allah,” she said.
Recently former minister Sidik Mia advised Muslims to avoid the tendency of receiving bribes and compromising their duty for the love of money.
“What destroys the community is when leaders choose to keep quite or support wrong things because they have been bribed with some monetary benefits at th expenseof the whole faith or community,” said Mia.
According to Sidik Mia, as Muslims, a religious call is to address the social ills, hunger, poverty and the importance of fitting into a group with a view to fend off challenges of the time presenting the majority not a corrupt few.
