MCP LEGISLATORS HONOURABLE AMON NKHATA AND HONOURABLE MADALITSO KAZOMBO CALLS FOR CHIEFS AND POLITICIANS TO WORK TOGETHER , CAMPAIGNING TO GET PEOPLE INTO NATIONAL REGISTRATION

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) legislators for Kasungu central and Kasungu East, Hon. Amon Nkhata and Hon Madalitso Kazombo respectively has called for Chiefs to work with members of parliament in their respective areas on important issues of development and not to allow some politicians misuse them for political gains.

In attendance at the funeral were Mcp president who is also leader of opposition Dr Lazarus Chakwera. Other well known figures present were former Malawi Army Commander General Henry Odilo and Former finance minister Ken Kandodo.

Hon Amon Nkhata and Hon Madalitso Kazombo reminded chiefs the importance of their role as neutral leaders in society.

“Its sad that our respected chiefs are being misused by some politicians who has no respect for them. Mcp we respect our chiefs and we work with them to develop this district instead of parading them on national media stations on political affiliations. Chiefs do represent everyone in there area and not a particular group of people” . said Hon. Amon Nkhata.

Among other others things, Hon Amon Nkhata and Hon Madalisto Kazombo reminded the chiefs to work with the politicians and encourage all the eligible people in Kasungu to register for the on going national identity scheme and get their ID.

The 2 Honorables together with the former minister Ken Kandodo have also put resources together to help with public announcements for the registration message to reach out to all.

“It is sad to note that the national identity program is not receiving adequate support from government. However am urging the people of Kasungu register in numbers and also to get them aware that this will allow them to vote come 2019,” said Hon Kazombo.
