MCP leader shocked by Catholic priest death, condoles Church and family

Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president has expressed his shock over the sadden death of Father Andrew Nkhata, the Vicar General of Mangochi Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.

Reports indicate that the catholic Cleric was involved in a head-on collision at Abilali Trust School, at Namiasi in Mangochi.

“This is sad, and I extend my condolences to the Catholic Church and all family members for this untimely death of such an important person, may his soul rest in peace,” said Dr. Chakwera Tuesday morning.

Remains of Fr. Nkhata, who was stationed at Koche Parish in Mangochi, are said to be at Mangochi District Hospital Mortuary and burial arrangements will be made public by the Church later.
