Ready to mend longtime relationship with Mnangagwa’s nation.
The Malawi leader who is also the president for Malawi Congress Party has gone out of this country to Zimbabwe with a hope of mending the long time relationship that dates back in colonial time of British protectorate.
Speaking to Afriem on his departure on Wednesday afternoon at Kamuzu International Airport, Chakwera says his tour to Zimbabwe will see him also discussing bilateral relations with Zimbabwe government.
Chakwera also emphasized that Malawi and Zimbabwe have had been enjoying a good relationship that needs to be mended by all means and his going to Halare will cement this longtime relationship.
This evening, Chakwera is expected to have a dinner with Zimbabwe president Emmerson M’nangagwa where the two leaders will also hold their discussions.
Chakwera started visiting his fellow neighboring countries’ president last week with his maiden one day working tour in Zambia.
The Malawi leader is expected to fly back home tomorrow Thursday afternoon.
