MSUNGAMA PUSHES FOR YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN ECONOMIC DRIVE

Minister of Sports and Youth Ulemu Msungama who is also Malawi Congress Party member of Parliament for Lilongwe City South East constituency continues meeting different stakeholders that will help in pushing for youth involvement economic drive through entrepreneurship.

Speaking after meeting mHub programs manager Evelyn Kasambara on Wednesday afternoon, Msungama said his ministry under the Tonse Alliance government will continue to engage with the youths on how best all stakeholders can promote youth oriented programs.

Msungama highlighted that his meeting with mHub Programs Manager touched base on very critical areas especially on all stakeholders working with the youth can coin deliberate programs aimed at supporting the youth.

He further added that one of the wa of turning the agenda for youth engagement into reality, his ministry will work closely with organisations like mHub to ensure youth inclusion in decision making, digital skills and computer skills as well as youth economic empowerment.

Youthful Msungama added that this platform of engaging mHub gave him a chance to appreciate the good work mHub is currently doing in partnering with other stakeholders in providing financial investment support to youth that are innovating around developing mechanisms for Covid19 responses and awareness.

Evelyn Kasambara however applaud the minister’s gesture in opening up his office for youthful entrepreneurs as this will help him get the real problems youths are facing across the country, thereby finding better solutions of helping the youth.

Kasambara further pledged a continued support in providing capacity building trainings to ambitious entrepreneurs for them to find lasting solutions to their financial problems as they will be able to be financially independent once their entrepreneurial skills are put into action.


Msungama concluded that his ministry and indeed theTonse Alliance government believe in a Malawi that has vibrant young people, able to run the affairs of the country and that this is the time youths should change their long time perception of saying that they are leaders of tomorrow hinting that the time to lead is now.

mHub is founded on the objective of leveraging the power of technology to train and empower entreprenuers, innovators and upcoming techies to build solutions and businesses that solve problems in the society and world over and is comprised of dedicated team of mentors full of ideas, skills and the drive to inspire, motivate and train the innovators.
