0

For a long time, many youths have had been always rushing for white collar jobs over the blue collar jobs simply because they want to shine with their decent dressing among their peers.

To Andrew Phiri, integrating white collar job and his artistic talent in drawing has taken him to another level he never imagined of.

While Ulemu Msungama was carrying out his errands in capital Lilongwe as Minister of Youth and Sports, he met Andrew where he was so amazed by his rare skills in drawing using a simple pencil and crayons and this youthful artist ‘Andy’ decided to book an appointment to present his business concepts and ideas to him as he also right away asked Msungama to become his Business Mentor.

It was on this meeting where an accomplishment of Andy’s dreams started seeing light of the day as Andy told this Minister that he was inspired by the Tonse Alliance’s philosophy of creating one Million jobs and he believes this can be achieved if the youth are also supported to pursue their dreams as he wants to lead by example in turning his artistic skills into a viable business that can employ more people

“As Minister of Youth and Sports, it is my passion to see a lot of youths becoming self reliant and I would like to assure every Malawian that my ministry will always support every talented youth, whose work and ideas, if nurtured, can undoubtedly help in creating job opportunities for fellow youth.” Msungama told Afriem.

The youth minister further added that he has no doubt that many of the ideas the youth like Andrew have, if well executed, can enhance youth development and entrepreneurship as Malawi implements the one million jobs creation under Chakwera leadership.

Andrew Phiri; a TV and Radio Programs and Commercials Producer, but above all an Artist presented to Msungama a portrait of his picture which he has drawn.

While receiving the portrait, the youthful minister promised to move with Andy in every step, in his Arts project until his dream of supporting fellow youths is realised.
“There are many youths with adorable skills like that of Andrew and I want to assure you that my ministry under the leadership of Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and the has coined deliberate initiatives to support the youth and some of the initiatives include; training programs, loans for the youth and leveling the ground for the young and upcoming entrepreneurs to sail through for the growth of your businesses.” Msungama said.

Malawi has a large population of youths who are jobless and the tonse alliance promised to create one million jobs in both public and private sectors.
