ELEVENTH HOUR POSTPONEMENT OF DAVIDO’S SHOW ANGERS FANS

0

News that the show which top Nigerian Superstar Davido was expected to hold in the country this weekend has been shifted to a later date has not gone down well with most of his local fans.

The 26 year old Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke, was billed to spice the launch of the Go Green Initiative alongside local artists in the likes of Lucius Banda and the Black Missionaries, fondly known as ‘Ma Blacks’ among music fans, at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe on Friday.

Confirming the postponement of the show, Davido’s manager Kamal Ajiboye said the organizers of the concert told him they needed more time to put things together.

“Due to the magnitude of the event I’m told there is need for more time to plan so the event has been moved to a further date which will be released soon,” said Ajiboye.

But reacting to the news, Noel Gondwe of Salima described the eleventh hour postponement of the concert as frustrating.

“Look here, I came all the way from Salima yesterday just to make sure I catch a glimpse of my favourite artist Davido today. This is frustrating,” he lamented.

Sam Minjolo, a Lilongwe-based vendor, could also not conceal his disappointment when Afriem Correspondent sought his views on the postponement of Davido’s coming to Malawi.

“I started saving for the show as soon as I heard about it last week. To tell me it has been shifted to a later date is something that has doomed my weekend,’ he said.

Davido’s music is selling like hot cakes in the country with hits such as Gobe, Skelewu, One of a Kind and the most recent one Aye.
