Kandodo hands over health facilities to Mangochi People.

The Minister of Health and Population Hon Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda MP, on Tuesday presided over the official handover ceremony for a Maternity wing, Maternity waiting homes and staff house at Lulanga Health Centre in Mangochi.

Lulanga Health Centre is a CHAM facility under Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire and is situated 130km from Mangochi Boma, 19km past Makanjira, in Mangochi Lutende constituency.

In her remarks, Hon Chiponda expressed gratitude to the Norwegian Church Aid and Danish Church Aid who together constructed the health facility (maternity unit) which is worth 282 million kwacha.

Archbishop Brighton Malasa and Tradional Authority Lulanga thanked the Malawi government, NCA and DCA for the facility which he says will go a long way in solving some challenges people from the surrounding areas were facing especially in accessing health services.

Malawi still has many hospitals and health centres having similar challenges of lacking staff houses, maternity waiting homes and maternity wings.
